I'm not sure if it will work or not in that case. I still need to try to use it without the battery in it at all. In order for me to use this as my primary internet device it needs to be able to run entirely off of the AC adapter, but instead it would wear down the battery, then shutoff and charge. The device is fast and holds connection well however, it seems that it will not charge and run while the battery is in. I was hoping to replace my home internet with this device.
Good product for mobile internet, not suited for home internet replacement. The problem was that that usage did not show up on the usage website, only on my bill. My bill did add up in terms of the usage, and there was one night that it showed 2.9 GB usage when I was connected to my work VPN. When I contacted Verizon, they did credit me the overage charge, but they could not e xplain the difference in the daily reporting on the website. Their website is very easy to check usage and I checked it very closely during the last week of my billing cycle and it showed that I was just below the 5G limit ($50 per month), but when I got the bill, I was suurprised to be over by 1.9G with a $20 overage charge. Finally, watch out for Verizon's data usage report. Seems it sometimes happens when device switches from 4G to 3G. The only issue is that occasionally it will drop the connection and will require a power cycle. Connection speed is as good as TWC cable modem in 4G mode (green) and speeds are reasonable with 3G (purple). The hotspot was easy to activate with Verizon (for $35 activation fee) and all devices connected easily using.
